Yes, the front nose cone is a plastic Easter egg…

Speed run on August 10, 2017:

July 24, 2017: Big breakthroughs in frame design. Had to ditch the VXV for this one. This may be a series of frames, so I am denoting the difference with the motor to motor distance (since it is another z-frame, this distance is measured in 3 dimensions).

August 6, 2017: this past Friday, this frame hit 160.5 mph on a 4s lipo and 172.0 mph on a 5s. I admit that it was very windy so I am waiting for a calmer day to get a more honest reading. Below are the videos blackbox log links (includes GPS .cvs file data if you use the blackbox decoder). If you haven’t read about it yet, GPS is the way to go for recording velocity.

Update March 11, 2018: I decided to go through a few of the blackbox GPS log files with the GPS Speed Calculator (just to rule out human error on my previous number crunching) and found out that the peak recorded speed for the 4s was 160.46mph! Average one direction speed over 100m was 156.13mph! How was this possible? Like I said above, it was a windy day. Weather history for that day is here. To verify, I reviewed the FPV video and 258kph is shown for a split second (5 frames) at the 3.6 second mark on the Youtube video:

4s 160.46mph

Final Refinement for the VX Series?

Yes it is. This is just basically a refinement of the original VX1. A few of the details:

VXV 03
The 48g VXR-190 frame is just as strong as the 69g VXV frame (pictured). Sitting as shown above, it can support a weight of at least 165lbs.

Ryan – Thank you for sharing your log.

As you might know, I’ve held the world flight duration record twice and appreciate those that fly off the envelope and then share how they do it so others and industry can benefit.

As an independent source, I went through your log and verified your numbers. Congratulations on setting a new world record. It’s hard to image a quad passing my car on the freeway let alone passing my car at three times my speed! But you have achieved that. Well done.

If you like, I can also post my verification of your log results.
